Organisations or companies with medium to large-scale goods or services to help the Christchurch earthquake recovery are being asked to make a pledge on pledge.canterburyearthquake.org.nz.
Civil Defence is reviewing the pledges as they are made on the website and arranging for the deployment of goods and services where they are most needed for the earthquake recovery work.
Civil Defence is managing and liaising closely with the many agencies working on earthquake recovery in Christchurch and is aware of the areas of most urgent need.
Businesses have been pledging items as diverse as gas bottle refills, hand sanitiser, and shipping containers.
Most banks are also accepting donations via online banking – a list of account numbers is available at http://canterburyearthquake.org.nz/wanting-to-help-make-a-donation-or-volunteer/
If people have small-scale goods and services, not requiring logistical support, they should use the Trade Me site at www.trademe.co.nz/christchurch-earthquake-support
